I overheard this tonight

It was a fierce kind of argument. He was really mad, almost shouting at her:

“When I tell you the truth you refuse to hear me. Why do you force me lie to you in order to fit into your damned petty expectations …?

About julienmatei
I feel an inner urge to express what I see, to communicate and share with others all these impressions. Often the things I see are there, not yet manifest, but waiting... to be observed, talked about, and embraced. These new insights need another approach, a more vivid curiosity... Due to fear and prejudice we prefer to see only "the official" truth - but THE OFFICIAL TRUTH IS DEAD - being dead, it has nothing to give... We can continue pretending Death is fascinating or... we can take the trouble to LIVE... THE NEW has no definition yet... Again, IT requires another "perception", the courage to apprehend everything differently, from a totally new angle, with new confidence and inquisitive touch. This blog is not about interesting concepts, it is about participation... finding new solutions, inspiration, togetherness.

Julien, all of your posts are interesting. This one I find fascinating. It captures, for me at least, the futility of reason in personal relations. That is, the speaker makes a good point. But relationships aren’t debate contests. Is this what he wants to say? Or is this just a great rejoinder?

    Very interesting.

…the futility of reason, you say…well, it’s a sad fact, but many suppress – and are reluctant to embrace – real emotion, so what is left other than compensating our inner lack through our inane reason…

At least here in Sweden, (and not only) relations are more often than not debate contests…not something built on real shared emotion.

Indeed – is this this what he wants to say? Or…?…His words could have been mine…
