Something which never ends…

I have a friend and she is 5. Yes, you read correctly: five-years-old. This girl is amazing. Such dazzling inner light, love and vivid intelligence. So witty, truly talented and fun. She always plays around the cafe I go to, she lives next door. Her parents know and trust me.

So there we were tonight, the two of us, eating ice cream and having a great time together. Drawing, joking, making crazy faces…Our laughter was echoing all over the place. Out of the blue she looked at me with a rather serious mine: “You know, I wonder how is to be infinite…” I was startled. I inquired: “Do you know what the infinite is?”…”Of course, something which never ends…”

So as we sat there engaged in our crazy dialogue about stars, princesses and ice castles, two girls holding hands timidly approached our table. One could gather they were sisters. They were so unspeakably sweet and remarkably touching…Innocence and beauty incarnated. I found out that one was seven and the other three…Moon and Ladybug were their names. The whole thing felt it didn´t happen in reality, it was more a kind of endearing film…There they stood, asking with such winsome simplicity: “Can we be friends? Can we also play with you?” The question was not posed to my little friend, BUT TO ME…Imagine that. In their sweet world, I was a child too.

I melted. I was moved to tears. Taken aback too. By the beauty of this unwonted episode…My little friend looked at them first rather suspicious, but after a moment of contemplation she raised up and said laughingly: “Let´s hug!”…And so there they were hugging each other, and so right after they came to embrace me too…

I won´t say anything more…I will leave it like this wondering:

Wouldn´t you prefer the company of a sweet and loving child being interested in princesses, ice castles and infinity than some vapid, arrogant, fussy and constipated grown-ups who suck?…

About julienmatei
I feel an inner urge to express what I see, to communicate and share with others all these impressions. Often the things I see are there, not yet manifest, but waiting... to be observed, talked about, and embraced. These new insights need another approach, a more vivid curiosity... Due to fear and prejudice we prefer to see only "the official" truth - but THE OFFICIAL TRUTH IS DEAD - being dead, it has nothing to give... We can continue pretending Death is fascinating or... we can take the trouble to LIVE... THE NEW has no definition yet... Again, IT requires another "perception", the courage to apprehend everything differently, from a totally new angle, with new confidence and inquisitive touch. This blog is not about interesting concepts, it is about participation... finding new solutions, inspiration, togetherness.
