People do not want to face the truth because they are comfortable with illusion

“You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fiercely fight to protect it.” – Matrix

I could have said this, but the following excerpt is not written by me. I just received it from a friend. I don´t know who said or wrote it:

“Facing the truth takes courage and strength. Most people are not ready to see the truth and would be devastated by it, because they have invested so much in the illusion. After spending much of their life living for things like money and status, facing the truth that those things are not important in the long run, would be hard to do. If you told them the truth about their life, they would become angry and would act aggressively to any change.

People are living without considering the big picture of life; they live like they are never going to die. They spend most of the day at work, and when they come home, they are too tired to question the world around them. What do all those days of work mean to them at the moment of their death? We need to see the truth; that consciously evolving ourselves is the most important thing a human being can do.

Unplug from the illusion and live on a spiritual level, where your immortal life, your soul, is the highest consideration. The more people who are plugged into the illusion, the stronger the illusion is. Humans have a very bad habit of monkey-see monkey-do. When most people are doing something, it seems normal and it is easy to go along with it. It takes a rare person to do something different, and when they do, they often are ignored, oppressed, and killed because they are perceived as a threat. A spiritual being living with humanity is like a modern human living with cavemen. They don’t fit in.”
